Registered Surveyer Richard Lamble is the Principal surveyor at MSES. He has 18 years experience at sea on tankers, bulk carriers and gas carriers with his last appointment as staff chief engineer on a cruise liner. With over 40 years sailing experience in yachts of all sizes and several renovations and new constructions in wood, glass fibre, west, steel and aluminium to his credit, he has developed an awareness of where to look for the problems boat develop. His technical background encourages the use of latest technology to enhance the surveys value.

Richard is a 1st Class Marine Engineer Officer – Steam and Motor, a member of the Institute of Marine Engineers, Scientists and Technologists, and a member of the International Institute of Marine Surveyors.

Registered Surveyor Simon Pickering is the specialist composite and sailing yacht surveyor at MSES. He has 15 years’ experience managing boat building and maintenance facilities in China, Australia and Hong Kong overseeing the build of over 100 new composite vessels. From 2011 to 2018 he was the Boatyard Manager for the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club overseeing the maintenance and repair of more than 300 sailing yachts each year. With over 35 years racing in regattas globally, four Sydney to Hobart races and over twenty crossings of the South China Sea to his credit, he has developed an intuitive awareness of where to look for the problems that sailing yachts develop.

Simon is a member of the International Institute of Marine Surveyors.
